The VDL-2 service allows the automatic exchange of data between airplanes and ground stations, such as short messages and position data, also ensuring communications between pilots and air traffic controllers.

Thanks to the adoption of a microprocessor-based technology, the use of the transceiver is extremely simple (user-friendly approach). The device is also equipped with a self-diagnosis system on its operating conditions (Built In Test Equipment – BITE).
