PELAGUS, the software system developed by Elman, has been enhanced with new GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress Safety System) functionalities.
The PELAGUS system is a widely used software solution, designed to meet the needs of the authorities in charge for the maritime traffic in particular along the coasts.
From the web interface of PELAGUS, it is possible to directly visualize the DSC messages received, acknowledge the messages and reply to emergencies at sea. The integration with AIS and LRIT systems allows to identify the positions of the vessels that have sent the messages(eg distress call) and visualize the positions on the cartographic GIS to ease the activities of SAR(Search and Rescue). The platform is also interfaced with the Navtex System, allowing to monitor the status of the network and of all the Navtex messages.
