Elman will be present also in Montenegro with its systems, as showed on the official gazette of the European Union. The European Commission has floated a tender for the realization of a National VTMIS in Montenegro: “Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS) and response to marine pollution incidents”. Five European based Companies have participated to this tender.
The scope of the project is to monitor the maritime traffic in the area of the Adriatic sea of competence of Montenegro. The main objectives of the project are:
- increase safety at sea
- reduce the number of accidents at sea
- prevent pollution caused by vessels
- contrast illegal immigration, smuggling and other illegal activities
The system will rely on three Remote Sensor Sites(RSS) which will be equipped with various devices, including solid state radars. The RSSs will be located in the following strategic areas:
- Mavrijan
- Crni Rt
- Obosnik
A Control Center(CC) located in Dobra Voda will collect all the information acquired by the RSSs.
Elman Srl was awarded with the Lot 1 of the tender which includes all the equipment of the VTMIS, the implementation of the system and the training of the personnel.
